mission: MUSE - "where i live"
by muse lucy
What is Cape Cod?
It's a summer place and a year-round place.
An ocean place and a woods place.
Historic and modern. Artistic and down-to-earth.
Rich and poor. Aging and vibrant.
Beautiful. Overpopulated. Elegant. Overbuilt.
Tourists and old-timers. Wash-ashores and natives.

Here's how Cape Cod looks to me:
The ocean has many moods.
We enjoy the night life.
There are beautiful gardens and farms,
and historic buildings.
Interesting people.
Family and friends.
Antiques, museums, libraries, and history.
But my favorite thing about Cape Cod is the light -- summer, winter, spring, fall.
A photographer's dream.
You can read more about my life on Cape Cod on my blog, a little light reading.

ReplyDeleteTruly wonderful post Lucy. I miss New England with it's seasons and charm.
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness...at first I thought the 'historic buildings' would be my favorite set of images. But then I got to the 'light' set...swoon!
ReplyDeleteLove the layout and way you choose to share where you live :-)
I haven't visited that area since I was wee. It's obviously time for a return visit. What a beautifully presented post, Lucy.
ReplyDeleteOh Lucy, this is making me want to jump on a plane and come to visit. Such an original and fabulous way to post for this theme.

ReplyDeleteSo lovely, I want to pack my bags and come for a visit.
ReplyDeleteI was so happy to see images from Cape Cod....we used to spend our summers in S.Chatham - memories include the ice-cream truck coming to the beach parking lot, jumping off a wood "bridge" which crossed a crick', stormy days at the beach, wearing a thick sweater and playing with hermit crabs.....
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding me of what a beautiful place it is....
Makes me homesick. Love you Lucy!
ReplyDeletelovely post, fantastic choices for photos. I loved "we enjoy the night life" lol. It is so interesting to see slices of other people's lives.
ReplyDeleteI made your page! I'm so honored! I love the interesting people pic - the guy with the stomach: priceless! Still hoping to find myself in the same area as you are, either for a grand visit or a move. Nice, Luce! - Love!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fantastic post, Lucy! While I am a Maine girl, the Cape is my other home of the soul. We go there as often as we can, and fall is my very favorite time to be there--especially when I can hit the Wellfleet Oyster Festival! Your photos capture the feeling of the place beautifully.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this wonderful post! I love how you presented Cape Cod in these photos and I'd love to visit at once!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! It must have taken quite some time!
ReplyDeleteI love how you put all of this together. Fabulous images, all of them. I must admit, I love the ocean photos best. I hope to visit there one day . . .
